HIL Test Engineer – Automotive Sector

About the role

We are looking for a talented Test Automation Developer to join our embedded systems team in the automotive sector. You will design, implement and execute automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of both software and hardware components.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test cases for embedded systems using Python within a dedicated test automation framework.
• Integrate test cases into the test environment to validate software, hardware and overall system performance.
• Enhance and maintain the test automation framework for efficiency and maintainability.
• Implement custom tools, libraries and scripts to improve automation workflows and reporting.
• Execute automated test scripts on embedded targets, analysing results and reporting defects.
• Generate detailed test reports covering test coverage, defects and reliability metrics.
• Ensure all tests comply with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE and OEM‑specific guidelines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in engineering or a related field with a focus on embedded systems.
• Proven experience in test automation using Python.
• Good knowledge of automotive functionalities and standards.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication in English.

Required skills

• Python programming for test automation.
• Matlab/Simulink.
• Embedded systems testing (integration and functional).
• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, UDS.
• Tools: CANoe, CANalyzer.
• Defect tracking tools such as Jira.
