HSCA Harness Application Engineer

About the role

The HSCA Harness Application Engineer will lead the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications. The role involves conducting value analysis and engineering to optimise product design, improve functionality and reduce costs while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities to optimise product design and reduce costs.
• Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems using CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Siemens NX.
• Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle, adhering to change control processes.
• Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics and charts in line with internal standards and industry regulations.
• Participate in all phases of product development, including concept design, prototyping, testing and validation.
• Utilise PLM software to manage product data, documentation and revisions.
• Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate BOM changes and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering B.Sc or M.Sc degree with automotive experience, preferably focused on terminal/connector development or cable assembly manufacturing.
• Fluent communication in English and experience in technical customer meetings.
• Hands‑on mentality and strong communication skills to coordinate requirements across engineering, quality, manufacturing, validation and sales.
• Experience with CAD (Siemens NX) and knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
• Familiarity with D‑FMEA, P‑FMEA, control plans and creation of risk assessments.
