International Consultant for WASH and Climate-Resilient Social Services

About the role

UNICEF Morocco is seeking an international consultant to deliver a set of time‑bound WASH‑related outputs across health, education and climate portfolios. The role involves producing national standards, technical guidance, implementation tools, training materials, monitoring instruments and quality‑assurance reviews to support donor‑funded initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop finalized national WASH standards and technical guidance for schools and health‑care facilities.
• Create implementation, training and monitoring tools, and conduct documented quality‑assurance reviews of field activities.
• Integrate climate risk, adaptation and resilience considerations into WASH, education and health programming.
• Coordinate with government institutions, partners and donors, and prepare or review donor proposals and reports.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in water, sanitation and hygiene, public health, environmental health, civil or environmental engineering, climate change, or a directly relevant field.
• Minimum six years of progressively responsible professional experience in institutional WASH, including work on schools and/or health‑care facilities.
• Proven experience developing or adapting WASH standards, technical guidance, assessment tools or national implementation frameworks.
• Experience with WASH FIT or a comparable quality‑improvement approach for health‑care facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate climate‑resilience into WASH and social‑sector programmes.
• Fluency in Arabic and working proficiency in English or French (both languages a strong asset).
