Investment Director – Project Development

About the role

Africa50, a pan‑African infrastructure investor and asset manager, is seeking an Investment Director to lead project development investments across the continent. Based in Casablanca, the role combines market analysis, transaction structuring, and team leadership to deliver bankable infrastructure outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Build a pipeline of opportunities through market trend analysis and sector knowledge.
• Execute Africa50 project development investments with a focus on bankable outcomes.
• Lead structuring of complex transactions involving negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
• Establish quality standards across the investment process.
• Develop and present investment recommendations to senior decision‑makers.
• Lead and mentor project teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Cultivate relationships with infrastructure companies, banking partners and government officials.
• Develop deep sector knowledge in power and transport industries.

Required profile

• 10+ years of investment and industry experience in project development, project finance or related roles.
• Background in utilities, Tier‑1 investment banks, DFIs, advisory firms or infrastructure private equity.
• MBA, MSc or equivalent from a top‑tier university.
• Demonstrated track record of closing complex infrastructure transactions.
• Prior experience managing and mentoring investment staff.
