Java Software Engineer – Mid Level, Hybrid (Relocation to Portugal)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Java Software Engineer to join KCS IT’s consulting team in Portugal. The role is mid‑level, hybrid and offers the possibility to work on diverse client projects across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java 8+ applications using micro‑services architecture.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams, preferably using Angular, to deliver integrated solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated unit and functional testing.
• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Deploy and operate services on cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and support DevOps practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong experience with Java 8+ development.
• Good knowledge of front‑end frameworks, ideally Angular.
• Experience with micro‑services, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Proficiency in relational databases and testing methodologies.
• Fluent in English and French.
