Local Buyer – Direct Raw Materials

About the role

The Local Buyer will manage all purchasing activities for direct raw materials at Aptiv's Connection Systems plant in Tangier. Reporting to the local Purchasing Leader, the role serves as the primary interface between the plant, the EMEA Purchasing Operations Team, and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Aptiv purchasing with external suppliers for plant‑related activities.
• Participate in local project teams to ensure early involvement in new launches, transfers, and engineering changes.
• Guarantee timely raw‑material availability through system readiness checks and coordination with EMEA purchasing.
• Maintain SAP data (purchasing views, schedule agreements, purchase orders) and master data (vendor and pricing information, new vendor creation).
• Resolve blocked invoices and support plant operations during delivery issues.
• Drive local cost‑reduction initiatives and support regional/global purchasing strategies.
• Assist in annual budget preparation for direct production material.
• Provide management reports and key performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with Aptiv procedures and legal regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and project‑management abilities.
• Disciplined, assertive, independent with a hands‑on mentality.
