Maintenance Engineer (Wipers Activity)

About the role

Valeo is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to lead the wipers activity in an automotive production environment. You will ensure equipment reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support a high‑performing maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols (LOTO) and conduct accident investigations (Safety QRQC).
• Manage daily team operations, including absenteeism, holidays, KPIs and training schedules.
• Perform on‑the‑job training, multi‑skilling and annual appraisals to develop team autonomy.
• Ensure maintenance tasks meet production targets and equipment availability goals.
• Lead quick‑response actions, provide technical support and apply root‑cause analysis (5 WHYs, PDCA, FTA).
• Maintain work instructions, 5S standards and "OK Start" protocols.
• Promote Lean tools such as TPM, ERIM, QRQC and participate in new equipment industrialisation.
• Monitor equipment performance through cycle‑time measurements and micro‑stoppage analysis.
• Manage improvement proposals, Kaizen cards and support budget preparation.

Required profile

• Mechanical or industrial engineering degree.
• More than 4 years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong communication and team‑management abilities.
• Motivation to learn, take initiative and question existing practices.

Required skills

• LOTO safety procedures.
• Safety QRQC and accident investigation.
• Root‑cause analysis tools (5 WHYs, PDCA, FTA).
• Lean manufacturing methods (TPM, ERIM, QRQC, 5S).
• Cycle‑time measurement and micro‑stoppage analysis.
• Maintenance work‑instruction management.
