Materials Planner – Production & Inventory Management

About the role

We are looking for a Materials Planner to manage our ERP‑driven material functions, ensuring accurate item master data, bill of materials, and inventory parameters. The role supports daily production scheduling, monitors supply shortages, and drives corrective actions to maintain high inventory accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ERP system data for item master, BOM, ship‑to locations and inventory parameters.
• Create and post daily production schedules, recording output in the ERP.
• Communicate “No Surprise” forms to customers when supply shortages arise.
• Review daily MRP supply reports and take corrective actions as needed.
• Identify and resolve customer and supplier data inaccuracies.
• Track component inventory discrepancies, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances.
• Track premium freight events, supplier‑caused downtime and generate debit memos for cost recovery.
• Communicate DMRs to suppliers and obtain disposition on quality‑hold materials.
• Monitor supplier communication for engineering changes and report daily KPIs for the materials department.
• Support health, safety and environmental investigations and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with ERP and MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting and material reconciliation.
• Ability to analyse supply reports, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high data accuracy.
