Mold Maintenance Technician – Automotive Tooling

About the role

Join a leading international automotive group as a Mold Maintenance Technician in our tooling department. You will be responsible for keeping production molds in optimal condition to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to handle molds safely.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and re‑assemble molds, including replacement of punches, dies, and gas springs.
• Maintain nitrogen and pneumatic systems, diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults, and perform repairs using grinding machines, drills, welding equipment and overlay techniques.
• Respond to breakdowns in production lines, restore equipment, and collaborate with Quality Control to meet quality standards.
• Conduct mold try‑outs, analyze recurring issues (5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto) and propose modifications to improve setup time and productivity.
• Plan work orders, prioritize interventions, and complete maintenance reports in SAP and Wrike.
• Coordinate tooling activities and assign tasks within the department.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or qualification in mechanics, tooling or a related field.
• Proven experience as a mold maintenance technician, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Ability to read technical drawings and mold standards.
• Problem‑solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
