Part‑Time Dietary Aide – Weekends

About the role

The Dietary Aide supports the Cook in preparing meals and ensures safe, sanitary food handling in a senior‑living or healthcare setting. This part‑time, weekend‑only position requires flexibility to cover meal service and related duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with portioning cold foods, preparing salads, desserts and other menu items.
• Set up cold trays for the Senior Living Center and prepare coffee, iced tea and water.
• Wash dishes and perform clean‑up duties in the dining room to meet service timelines.
• Prepare and deliver afternoon snacks as directed by the PM Cook.
• Post temperature readings on charts and perform other assigned duties.
• Participate in committees, attend meetings and provide feedback on performance improvement.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills for scaling recipes.
• Previous food‑service experience preferred; nursing‑home or hospital experience is a plus.
• Acceptable background check (KBI) required.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial kitchen equipment (ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, food‑prep appliances).
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and modified diet requirements.
• Physical ability to stand most of the day and lift at least 40 lb.
