Planning Supervisor – Port Operations

About the role

As a Planning Supervisor at APM Terminals MedPort Tangier, you will lead shift‑based planning activities that ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective terminal operations. You will act as the bridge between planning, operational, and technical teams to guarantee readiness for vessel calls, peak periods, and exceptional situations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead vessel, yard, and berth planning activities on shift, ensuring execution aligns with operational priorities and terminal business goals.
• Coordinate operational readiness for vessel calls, peak periods, and exceptional situations while optimizing equipment and yard capacity usage.
• Oversee vessel planning execution, optimizing load and discharge plans to achieve targeted berth productivity and turnaround times.
• Monitor vessel execution, resolve planning‑related disruptions, and ensure compliance with stability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain effective yard strategies, allocate and monitor storage areas for import, export, transshipment, reefer, hazardous, and empty containers.

Required profile

• Master’s or Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Maritime Studies, Automation, IT, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in a planning‑related position with strong expertise in vessel planning, yard planning, and terminal operating systems.
• Deep understanding of container‑terminal processes, capacity utilization, and container‑flow requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to make sound planning decisions in a dynamic environment.
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams with effective coaching, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
