Postdoctoral Fellow – Machine Learning (2 positions)

About the role

The Data Intelligence Group at the College of Computing, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, is hiring two postdoctoral fellows to advance research in multimodal representation learning and retrieval. The position starts on 1 February 2026 and is based on the university campus in Benguerir, Morocco.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original scientific research in machine learning, focusing on representation learning, dimensionality reduction, clustering and search.
• Design, implement and evaluate novel algorithms and deep‑learning models.
• Publish results in high‑impact conferences and journals and present findings at international events.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to research proposal writing.
• Participate in teaching activities, including the development of new courses.
• Help organise workshops, seminars and other events related to machine learning.
• Collaborate with internal team members and external academic or industrial partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong publication record in machine learning, preferably in representation learning, deep embeddings, contrastive learning or foundation models.
• Solid foundation in linear algebra, probability and statistics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Machine‑learning algorithm development.
• Experience with representation learning techniques.
