Postdoctoral Researcher in AI for Energy Materials

About the role

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the ENERGY-A-LAB project, which aims to develop a human-centered autonomous discovery platform for energy materials, with a focus on battery technologies. The researcher works at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Scientific Machine Learning and Energy Materials, contributing to self-driving laboratories and no-code autonomous workflows. The position is research-focused and does not involve teaching duties.

Key responsibilities

• Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and present at relevant conferences.
• Supervise PhD students, collaborating with and guiding them on their research projects.
• Contribute to preparing new research proposals aligned with the team's goals.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field (Computational Physics, Computational Chemistry, Applied Mathematics).
• Strong publication track record in relevant research areas.
• Strong experience in Machine Learning / Deep Learning.
• Knowledge of active learning, Bayesian optimization, and reinforcement learning or decision-making systems.
• Experience with Python (PyTorch, Scikit-learn), data pipelines and scientific data handling.
• Familiarity with multi-agent or autonomous systems and optimization under constraints.
• Experience with knowledge graphs, NLP or information extraction is a strong plus.

The position is open to candidates whose primary focus is AI in agriculture or remote sensing, and who wish to join a multidisciplinary team working on several research topics such as computer vision and remote sensing for agriculture, and AI tools for agriculture.
