Principal AI-Native Engineer

About the role

Ionic Partners is building enterprise‑wide agentic systems that automate core business functions. As a Principal AI‑Native Engineer you will join a flat, central team responsible for designing, delivering, and operating these production‑grade AI platforms across the company’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end development of agentic systems that replace manual workflows in engineering, finance, support, marketing, and revenue operations.
• Extend and harden the existing orchestration framework and machine‑readable context artifacts that power the agents.
• Integrate automated development and QA agents into the engineering pipeline, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Monitor production performance, manage cost lines, and continuously improve system evaluations.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate well‑specified business problems into autonomous AI solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale, production AI systems with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
• Strong track record of taking full ownership of complex software products from design through operation.
• Ability to work autonomously in a flat organization, making high‑impact decisions without hierarchical oversight.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in AI/ML system design and deployment.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks, agentic architectures, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in building and managing machine‑readable knowledge bases.
