About the role

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SUSMAT‑RC) at UM6P seeks a faculty member to lead research and teaching in sensor technology. The position focuses on innovative sensing principles and sensor design for precise agriculture and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all sensor‑technology activities within SUSMAT‑RC, transferring knowledge to internal researchers and external partners.
• Collaborate with centre researchers to develop new concepts for precise agriculture, water quality, and industrial settings.
• Design and teach advanced graduate courses on sensing principles, sensor design, and applications.
• Drive engineering solutions across technology readiness levels, from research to manufacturing.
• Work with faculty, companies, and consortia to translate research into commercial products, including patent filing and proposal writing.
• Co‑supervise MSc, PhD students and post‑doctoral fellows, ensuring progress in R&D projects.
• Represent SUSMAT‑RC at conferences, workshops, and meetings, communicating results in English.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a closely related field.
• Minimum five years of post‑doctoral or professional experience with recognized expertise in sensor technology.
• Demonstrated ability to lead research programs, teach graduate courses, and supervise students.
• Experience collaborating with national or international institutions and familiarity with the Moroccan/African innovation ecosystem.
• Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written.

• Surface chemistry, materials science, molecular and nanoscale science.
• Electrochemistry and chemical process knowledge.
• Data analysis techniques for sensor data.
• Project management and research program development.
