Project Geologist – Morocco Exploration

About the role

Fortescue is launching a large‑scale regional exploration programme across Morocco targeting copper, gold, iron ore and other critical minerals. As a Project Geologist you will work with experienced exploration professionals on frontier projects with district‑scale discovery potential.

Key responsibilities

• Compile, validate and interpret geological datasets.
• Conduct regional geological reviews and generate project studies.
• Identify and prioritize exploration targets using geological, geochemical and geophysical data.
• Perform geological mapping, sampling and field investigations.
• Supervise drilling contractors and carry out geological logging.
• Support planning and execution of exploration programmes.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and exploration recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve geological challenges.
• Promote safe and environmentally responsible exploration practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Approximately 3+ years of mineral exploration experience, preferably in greenfield projects.
• Strong geological mapping, logging and data interpretation abilities.
• Ability to integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets.
• Excellent technical writing, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in international exploration environments is valued.
• Fluent French; English proficiency is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence.
