Purchasing Manager – Tangier Plant

About the role

Aptiv is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing activities at its Tangier location. The role focuses on direct material procurement while also supporting indirect materials, equipment, and services, working closely with the EMEA central purchasing organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all purchasing activities for the Tangier plant, covering direct and indirect materials, equipment and services.
• Manage purchasing processes, ensuring compliance with company procedures, approval levels and SCM guidelines.
• Act as the primary interface between the local plant and the EMEA central purchasing organization.
• Maintain supplier relationships, support supplier quality, performance and development initiatives.
• Identify and drive material cost‑reduction and purchasing improvement projects.
• Monitor purchasing performance metrics such as price evolution, material savings and supplier performance.
• Develop annual procurement budgets and define local purchasing targets in coordination with central purchasing.
• Ensure effective use of SAP, SAP Ariba, DMF and other relevant SCM tools.
• Support purchasing audits and follow‑up on corrective actions.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in direct material purchasing, supplier management and cost optimisation.
• Experience managing purchasing budgets, KPIs and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Previous team leadership or people‑management experience.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
