Quality Control Supervisor

About the role

Pfizer is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to lead testing and compliance activities that ensure the safety and efficacy of its pharmaceutical products. You will work at the forefront of quality assurance, supporting both routine and innovative processes in a GMP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee testing and control of raw materials, commercial batches, validation batches, and stability samples to meet specifications and GMP requirements.
• Ensure timely completion of testing to support continuous cycle‑time performance.
• Support analytical method, cleaning, and process validation activities and related QC readiness.
• Provide QC support for out‑of‑specification results, trends, investigations, and change‑control activities.
• Lead and develop people, technology, and financial resources while sharing knowledge across the unit.
• Identify and implement improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency.
• Manage performance of direct and indirect reports and contribute to senior‑management decisions.
• Initiate investigations, drive corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely closure of quality records.
• Maintain and revise Document Control procedures, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support GMP compliance, inspection readiness, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Pharmacist qualification or Master’s degree/equivalent with at least 8 years of experience in a GMP environment or Quality department.
• Advanced analytical expertise and demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of Quality Operations and people‑management experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Thorough understanding of GMP requirements, SOPs, analytical processes, statistical and inspection practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data‑analysis computer tools and statistical analysis.
• Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) – Empower.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT.
