Quality & EHS Manager – Automotive Plant Launch

About the role

Our client, a leading international automotive manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Quality & EHS Manager to lead quality and environmental, health and safety functions for a new greenfield production facility in Tangier. This strategic role will build systems from scratch, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with global automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all quality activities and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer‑specific requirements.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
• Oversee APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC processes.
• Manage customer quality performance, complaints, 8D investigations and corrective actions.
• Supervise non‑conforming product handling, internal audits and external certification audits.
• Monitor plant quality KPIs and report performance to local and international management.
• Ensure ISO 14001 and local EHS regulatory compliance, promote safety culture, and coordinate occupational health, fire safety and environmental activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor the Quality & EHS team, define objectives, manage budget and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Maintenance.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in a Quality Management leadership role within automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
• Internal Auditor certification (IATF 16949); VDA 6.3 is a plus.
• Previous involvement in plant launches or greenfield projects.
• Fluent English.
