Quality Wiring Harness Engineer

About the role

The Quality Wiring Harness Engineer ensures that field quality issues are resolved quickly and that warranty costs are reduced. The role combines data‑driven analysis with hands‑on Gemba walks to improve manufacturing quality across multiple plants.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor total warranty spending KPI versus targets, analyze claims, failure modes, labor and parts costs, and follow up on assignment rates and clean‑point/TSB execution.
• Identify and drive cost‑saving opportunities such as TSB optimisation, kit rework and diagnostic improvements, coordinating with European teams and leading workshops with after‑sales.
• Organise and lead Gemba walks in various plants, define objectives, observe assembly lines, verify compliance with standard work and quality requirements, and manage the resulting action‑plan dashboard.
• Track and close ECRs, prepare management reports and dashboards, and ensure accurate reporting of KPI performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in wiring harness engineering and quality.
• Strong communication, negotiation and workshop‑facilitation skills.
• Autonomous, analytical, organized and able to work with diverse stakeholders.

• Wiring harness design, connectors and component design specifications.
• Quality data analysis and warranty data interpretation (Pareto, trend analysis).
• Cost‑driver identification and cross‑functional problem solving.
• Gemba walk methodology.
• Problem‑solving tools: 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa.
• APQP and PFMEA processes.
