R&D Station Manager

About the role

HI TECH SEEDS MAROC is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Station Manager to lead multi‑crop field trials on its Agadir farm and with external growers across Morocco. Reporting to the Global Trialing Manager, you will be a key member of the Global R&D Operations Team, ensuring high‑quality trial execution and data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the yearly R&D field trial plan, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Coordinate trial setup, sowing, planting, and monitoring for crops such as tomato, pepper, melon, watermelon, and cabbage.
• Lead the farm R&D team (1 direct report and 10‑15 seasonal workers) to achieve trial objectives safely and efficiently.
• Collect, analyze, and report trial data to breeding, product development, and sales stakeholders.
• Support breeding teams in plant selection and trial evaluation.
• Maintain phytosanitary standards in line with company and national regulations.
• Engage with nurseries, growers, seed dealers, and laboratories to strengthen the global R&D trial network.

Required profile

• Agricultural engineering degree or equivalent with 3‑5 years of R&D farm management experience.
• Hands‑on experience in greenhouse and open‑field vegetable crop research.
• Proven ability to lead a team and work independently under variable field conditions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to travel frequently within Morocco and occasionally abroad.
• Valid driver’s license and advanced proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
