Requirements & Specification Engineer – Steering Systems

About the role

The Requirements & Specification Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end definition of steering system components, translating system and OEM needs into clear, verifiable specifications. You will work within Scalian’s System Engineering practice, supporting automotive projects in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complete specifications and requirements for steering system components.
• Ensure technical consistency, completeness and compliance with system and OEM requirements.

Required profile

• Strong background in automotive project coordination or PMO.
• Proven experience in requirements engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Deep knowledge of mechatronic systems, preferably steering systems, with an analytical mindset and high attention to documentation quality.

• Requirements engineering, automotive development, steering system development.
• Project management, hardware development (wiring diagrams, EMV), mechanical development (installation space, technical drawings, acoustic and stiffness analysis), software development (runtime, architecture, trace analysis).
• Tools: MS Office, MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, ASPICE, DOORS/Codebeamer, Version42, Te.VB, VKVSCatiaV5, AVONVW80000, VW80149.
• English (professional proficiency); German is a strong asset.
