Seed Production Pathologist

About the role

Syngenta Seeds is seeking a Seed Production Pathologist to safeguard the health of vegetable seed crops across its global production network. The role provides technical guidance, tools, and support to field production teams, partners, and growers, ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality seed worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regional crop inspections, risk analyses, and audits; train and advise field production teams, growers, and third‑party vendors.
• Maintain and strengthen the global network for assigned species, collaborating with FP, GSSS, GCU, and regional peers.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, share best practices, and coordinate joint actions with global pathologists.
• Organize IT tools, infrastructure, and data accessibility to enable efficient global field pathology operations.
• Develop and implement hygiene processes, seed production procedures, and pathogen prevention and control programs.
• Act as the regional expert for disease identification, mitigation, and outbreak response.
• Support QC in pathogen identification and contribute to cross‑crop improvement projects.

Required profile

• Strong background in plant pathology, preferably with experience in vegetable seed crops.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders worldwide.
• Ability to translate global strategies into actionable regional plans.
• Experience training and mentoring teams in hygienic seed production techniques.
