Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the core APIs and real‑time services of our SaaS platform that connects POS systems, kitchens, and back‑office operations across multiple stores. You will own end‑to‑end feature delivery and help shape the technical roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Implement real‑time order flows between POS, KDS, and back‑office with Socket.IO.
• Model, optimize, and maintain data in SQL and MongoDB databases.
• Build asynchronous processing pipelines using Redis and Bull queues.
• Manage containerized deployments with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Integrate third‑party services such as payment gateways, messaging, invoicing, and hardware devices.
• Drive multi‑store, multi‑tenant SaaS architecture decisions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, scalability, and system performance.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and establish backend standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and Express.js.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and MongoDB.
• Hands‑on experience with real‑time WebSocket technologies.
• Proficiency with Redis, Bull queues, and Docker.
• Understanding of authentication and security mechanisms (JWT, sessions, API keys).
• Experience designing multi‑tenant SaaS architectures.
• Self‑driven ownership mindset.
