Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is looking for a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment, and management of integrated road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project in the ECOWAS region. The role will support the creation of harmonised data frameworks, interoperability mechanisms, and evidence‑based road‑safety monitoring tools across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database management, and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance, and road‑infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, standards, and analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems, and monitoring tools for road‑safety performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports, and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers, and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to crash data management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems or road‑safety information platforms.
• Proven experience in developing integrated databases, data‑interoperability solutions, and digital monitoring platforms.
• Experience working on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Background in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
