Senior Functional Safety Designer – Electrical & Electronic Architecture

About the role

The Senior Functional Safety Designer will be responsible for defining, maintaining and updating the Electrical and Electronic Architecture Design dossier (DCEE) for automotive projects. The role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, guiding consultant teams and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and update the DCEE, ensuring functional requirements are robust and safety‑compliant.
• Lead and coordinate teams of consultants, providing training, guidance and fostering collaboration.
• Conduct audits on use cases and scenarios, and design and consolidate system functional specifications.
• Manage integration of modification requests and prepare QCTP (Quality, Cost, Time, Planning) presentations for Stellantis management.
• Align with suppliers, follow up on requirements and interact with Stellantis design groups, project teams, TCS and component teams.
• Analyze issues, perform diagnostic synthesis and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the EE architecture team.
• Ensure all EE designs comply with industry standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Electronics, Embedded Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in functional safety and system design (5‑12 years).
• Strong experience designing functional requirements using ENOVIA.
• Good knowledge of functional architecture design with CATIA.
• Ability to manage product diversity, ensure requirements consistency and conduct technical analysis/root‑cause investigations (PLM).
• Proven ability to produce technical documentation, review and validate upstream requirements, and generate Technical Function Design (TFD) documents.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interaction and high‑level meetings.
