Senior Health Information Systems Officer

About the role

The Senior Health Information Systems Officer will lead the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities for the STRIDES Morocco Activity. This role ensures high‑quality health data collection, analysis, and reporting to support evidence‑based decision‑making and adaptive program management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and roll out the project’s MEL framework and Performance Monitoring Plan in coordination with the team and donor.
• Provide technical direction on health information systems, data management, and MEL to project staff.
• Strengthen multisectoral health data management systems, improving data review, accessibility, and interoperability between human and animal health surveillance.
• Lead baseline, midline, and endline assessments and evaluations as required.
• Develop and maintain a data quality assurance system, including SOPs for data collection, entry, cleaning, and reporting.
• Synthesize and analyze project data to identify trends and inform adaptive management decisions.
• Produce technical briefs, guidelines, and other documentation of best practices and findings.
• Manage project indicator tracking systems, ensuring accurate capture, update, and reporting against targets.
• Oversee development of data collection tools, databases, and reporting templates for consistency and accuracy.
• Prepare data visualizations and reports for donor and stakeholder communication.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in health information systems and MEL.
• Proven ability to lead data quality assurance processes and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing large health datasets.
• Experience working with multisectoral health data and coordinating with technical teams.
• Excellent written communication skills for preparing technical briefs and reports.
