Senior Manager Financial Accounting

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Senior Manager Financial Accounting to lead global financial accounting and statutory audit processes. The role ensures compliance with UK accounting standards, delivers accurate financial statements, and supports tax governance across all jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of financial accounting policies and processes to meet UK accounting standards.
• Oversee statutory audits, coordinate with external auditors, and implement action plans for audit findings.
• Prepare and review financial statements and regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues and support strategic financial decisions.
• Manage tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes, reporting, filings, and relationships with tax authorities.
• Identify and mitigate tax risks while optimizing the organization’s tax position.
• Report tax and accounting matters to senior leadership and collaborate with the Global Financial Controller.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit management.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and international tax regulations.
• Proven ability to lead a small team and work with global stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
