Senior Module Lead – Airframe (Morocco)

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a Senior Module Lead for Airframe to own the structural design of a new large‑span composite airframe platform. The role starts within the core Airframe engineering team and evolves into building and leading a dedicated composite engineering team in Morocco, covering the full product lifecycle from concept to industrial production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of large‑span composite airframe structures, including laminates, joints, inserts, and tooling strategy.
• Drive rapid in‑house composite prototyping and transition designs to series manufacturing.
• Own system‑level trade‑offs across mass budget, thermal performance, and manufacturing cost.
• Define and manage the airframe platform roadmap, milestones, priorities, and trade‑offs from prototype to production handover.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to preserve design intent.
• Build and lead a new composite engineering team in Morocco, defining hiring plans, team structure, and technical growth paths.
• Mentor junior engineers, set technical standards, and review designs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Senior mechanical engineer with proven experience taking at least one product from concept to production, preferably in UAV, robotics, or defense.
• Strong composite structural design expertise with hands‑on carbon‑fiber fabrication and prototyping.
• Demonstrated leadership of a team, module, or significant project, ideally including team‑building.
• Ability to operate as both a hands‑on designer and people leader in a fast‑paced, founding‑team environment.
• Excellent cross‑site communication skills.
