Senior Python Backend Developer (Remote)

About the role

Proxify is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong Python expertise to join its growing remote network. This full‑time, long‑term position involves building modern web applications for top companies across the USA and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Create and manage robust RESTful APIs.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment and maintenance.
• Write clean, scalable, and well‑documented code.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Work with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non‑relational databases.
• Implement testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, to ensure code quality.
• Support deployment processes and contribute to backend infrastructure when needed.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise backend performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Python web development.
• Strong proficiency with at least one backend framework (Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
• Hands‑on experience building production‑grade backend systems, not just scripts.
• Proven involvement in the full SDLC and architectural decision‑making.
• Solid understanding of API design and backend best practices.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Git version control and ability to work independently in a remote team.
