Senior SIM & eSIM Engineer (Remote)

About the role

A highly experienced Senior SIM & eSIM Engineer is sought, working remotely with an immediate start. The role covers SIM and eSIM engineering, 5G Standalone (5G SA), and Over-the-Air (OTA) management systems, including independent design, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of SIM/eSIM profiles and support of platform migration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain SIM and eSIM profiles, including 5G SA SIM cards and eSIMs, and ensure compliance with telecommunications standards
• Perform Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), technical acceptance tests and validation of SIM/eSIM profiles, documenting results and reports
• Manage SIM-OTA platforms, configure and run remote SIM updates, design and run OTA campaigns, and troubleshoot OTA issues
• Support migration from an existing SIM-OTA platform to a new one, including data migration, validation, acceptance testing and issue resolution

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good English
• Preferred: Agile experience, familiarity with two-week sprints, previous SIM-OTA platform migrations, telecom provisioning systems, SIM automation and complex SIM/eSIM integration projects

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of 5G SA SIM and eSIM technologies and 5G SIM profiles
• Hands-on SIM/eSIM profile management and testing
• SIM-OTA platforms, APDU commands, 3GPP TS 31.102 and ETSI TS 102 221
• Designing and running OTA campaigns
