Software Engineer – Data Backend Platforms

About the role

Join a product team that works in an Agile/Scrum environment to design, develop, and evolve strategic data‑backend platforms supporting Orange Business’ key transformation programs such as SM2.0, Vibe, NewCo, and Evolve.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and data‑processing components.
• Deliver strategic projects while ensuring solution quality, performance and reliability.
• Modernise and refactor existing applications to improve maintainability and scalability.
• Support cloud‑migration initiatives and adopt modern architectures.
• Implement APIs, integrations and data‑exchange mechanisms with internal and external systems.
• Analyse and resolve production incidents, performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Technical Leads and other development teams.
• Contribute to solution design, technical roadmap and architecture evolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment.

Required profile

• BAC+5 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proven experience delivering business‑critical applications with high availability and performance requirements.

Required skills

• Strong development experience in Java.
• Experience with Scala and distributed data‑processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, backend architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with OrientDB, PostgreSQL and database performance optimisation.
• Knowledge of data modelling, large‑scale data management and processing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and migration projects (plus).
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (plus).
