Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The role focuses on developing, deploying and promoting Earth Observation services and applications that leverage Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of Earth Observation services and applications for sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity.
• Coordinate with African institutions and stakeholders to ensure uptake and effective use of Copernicus‑derived products.
• Provide technical guidance on the integration of Copernicus data into existing and new service platforms.
• Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, reports and policy briefs for the AESPP Boost initiative.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of deployed EO solutions, recommending improvements and scaling strategies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably using Copernicus data and products.
• Demonstrated experience working with African institutions or facilitating user uptake is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese considered a plus.
