Superintendent Geologist – Lead Exploration Programs in Morocco

About the role

Fortescue is building a regional exploration programme across Morocco focused on copper, gold, iron ore and other critical minerals. The Superintendent Geologist will lead the planning and execution of multiple exploration projects, manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure safe, environmentally‑responsible field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, budgeting and scheduling of exploration programmes across several projects.
• Manage geological teams, drilling campaigns, field operations and multidisciplinary contractors.
• Coordinate geological, geochemical, geophysical and remote‑sensing activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, consultants and project partners.
• Review exploration results, produce technical recommendations and support investment decisions.
• Mentor and develop junior geologists, strengthening technical capability.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety, environmental and community commitments.
• Prepare technical reports, project reviews and senior‑leadership presentations.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of exploration experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record managing exploration projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong project management, budgeting and planning abilities.
• Fluent French; English proficiency highly regarded.
• Valid driver’s licence.
