Teaching Assistant – Classroom Support

About the role

The Casablanca American School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teachers and ensure a safe, effective learning environment for students. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, student supervision, and resource management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide translation during parent meetings as needed.
• Attend required events, meetings, and in‑house trainings.
• Lead invitational groups established by teachers and offer 1:1 student assistance.
• Substitute for teachers when absent and assist with formative assessments.
• Support positive classroom culture, including setting up materials and maintaining organization.
• Help students with self‑management tools such as agendas and notebooks.
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom inventory, photocopying, and Chromebook care.
• Supervise students during transitions, dismissal, lunch, recess, and specialist classes, including PE.
• Enforce classroom expectations, procedures, and routines.

Required profile

• Local university degree or equivalent.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Ability to pass extensive background checks and child‑safety screening.
• Computer skills are preferred.
