Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Casablanca American School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teachers in creating a safe and effective learning environment for K‑12 students. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, student supervision, and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide translation during parent meetings when needed.
• Attend required events, meetings, and in‑house trainings.
• Lead invitational groups established by teachers and offer one‑on‑one student assistance.
• Substitute for absent teachers and support formative assessment.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture, including setting up materials and assisting students with self‑management tools.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and specialist classes, including PE for grades N‑G2.
• Assist with photocopying, inventory, organization, and care of classroom resources such as the library and Chromebooks.

Required profile

• Local university degree or equivalent.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Computer skills are preferred.
• Successful completion of extensive background checks and child‑safety screening.
• Flexibility for exceptions as approved by the Lower School Principal and Director.
