Telephone Operator (Standardiste)

About the role

The Telephone Operator (Standardiste) is the first point of contact for guests and internal staff at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech. Working at the hotel’s reception desk, you will manage all incoming and outgoing calls, wake‑up requests, and fax communications while ensuring a seamless and courteous experience for a high‑end clientele.

Key responsibilities

• Answer all internal and external calls promptly, using guests’ names and directing them to the appropriate department.
• Manage wake‑up call requests and follow up to ensure timely service.
• Handle “Do Not Disturb”, occupied lines, call transfers, holds, diversions, and other telephone system functions.
• Process incoming faxes and distribute them to the correct hotel services.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of opening hours, service offerings, and point‑of‑sale schedules across the property.

Required profile

• Excellent presentation, clear diction, and strong interpersonal skills suitable for a luxury environment.
• Team‑oriented attitude with the ability to work under the supervision of the department manager.
• Professional demeanor and the capacity to handle high‑volume call traffic efficiently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Competent use of internet browsers for research and communication.
• Experience with Opera PMS (hotel management software) or similar telephone handling systems.
