Temporary High School English Teacher (Grades 9‑12)

About the role

We are seeking a temporary High School English Teacher to cover our Grades 9‑12 English/Language Arts program from 22 August to 31 October. The role involves delivering an American‑curriculum based course, fostering critical reading, writing and analytical skills in a diverse classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, student‑centered lessons aligned with American standards.
• Provide explicit instruction in writing, incorporating structured approaches such as The Writing Revolution.
• Assess student work, give constructive feedback, and track progress.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to support a positive learning community.
• Maintain awareness of child protection policies and adhere to school procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of secondary‑level English, Language Arts or Humanities teaching experience.
• Valid secondary teaching license or certification in English/Language Arts.
• Master’s degree in English, Education or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to student growth.
