Tendering Engineer – Substation Automation

About the role

The Tendering Engineer leads the end‑to‑end bid process for grid and substation automation projects. You will translate customer RFQs into optimized technical solutions, ensure compliance with standards, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver competitive proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and RFQs to define product, service and solution offers from the DS Agile, G500, GPG, AAA, MiCOM and Multilin portfolios.
• Package proposals with Telecom and M&D scopes where required.
• Maintain compliance with technical specifications and tender requirements, flagging risks and updating the risk & opportunity register.
• Conduct site assessments for brownfield or existing substations and capture typical circuits/schemes in the Tendering Tool.
• Manage the full bid lifecycle, including internal tender reviews, transfer meetings, and hand‑over to operations.
• Develop cost models, perform pricing analysis, and ensure budget margins are met.
• Support the sales team in commercial and technical negotiations and order booking.
• Track tender hit rate, submission percentage and win rate, driving continuous improvement of bid quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing tender processes for grid automation or substation automation projects.
• Strong analytical and technical judgment with the ability to assess risks and propose mitigation plans.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners.
