Test and Validation Engineer – HIL Automotive

About the role

ALTEN Delivery Center Morocco is looking for a Test and Validation Engineer specialized in Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing for automotive embedded systems. You will ensure the performance, reliability and compliance of electronic control units (ECUs) by executing rigorous validation campaigns on HIL benches.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop test cases for automotive ECUs and subsystems on HIL platforms.
• Execute validation campaigns, troubleshoot HIL benches and keep simulation models up‑to‑date.
• Automate test scripts using Python, CAPL or MATLAB/Simulink and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyse test results, identify hardware/software issues and produce detailed test reports.
• Validate communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS) and ensure compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE and OEM guidelines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in embedded systems or equivalent engineering experience.
• Proven experience in HIL testing for automotive applications.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electronic architecture, sensors, actuators and ECUs.
• Ability to work independently, diagnose defects and communicate findings in English.

Required skills

• HIL tools: dSPACE, Vector CANoe, NI VeriStand, ETAS.
• Automotive protocols: CAN, LIN, UDS, FlexRay, Ethernet.
• Scripting/Development: Python, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Testing methods: validation test plan creation, execution and reporting.
• Standards: ISO 26262, ASPICE.
