Tool & Die Coordinator

About the role

As a Tool & Die Coordinator you will manage the day‑to‑day planning and execution of tooling projects that support production. You will work closely with machinists, programmers, designers and procurement to ensure tools and fixtures are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and weekly machine loading for CNC Milling, Grinding, EDM Sinker and EDM Wire machines, balancing workload and prioritising based on urgency.
• Manage timelines for new mold and insert projects, escalating risks and maintaining status dashboards.
• Monitor shop‑floor performance, verify work order release, and drive recovery plans for delayed operations.
• Prioritise CAD/CAM programming requests, ensure programs are ready before machine start dates, and support best‑practice implementation.
• Allocate manpower according to project priorities, track availability of machinists and programmers, and promote cross‑training.
• Track availability of steel, electrodes, mold components and consumables, coordinate urgent purchases and follow up supplier deliveries to avoid material shortages.

Required profile

• Bachelor‑level technical education (Bac +4) with solid knowledge of mold and die manufacturing processes.
• Strong production planning, capacity management and multi‑project coordination skills.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams (machining, programming, design, quality, maintenance).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (SAP preferred) and production planning tools.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Creo, HyperMill or PEPS.

Required skills

• CNC Milling, Grinding, EDM Sinker and EDM Wire machining.
• Interpretation of 2D drawings, GD&T and 3D CAD models.
• Microsoft Excel and SAP (or similar ERP) usage.
• CAD/CAM software (Creo, HyperMill, PEPS) and KPI/dashboard creation.
