Verification & Validation Engineer – Vehicle Energy Management

About the role

AVL is looking for a Verification & Validation Engineer to support the development of vehicle energy and thermal management systems. You will work with test data, simulations and cross‑functional teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze data from vehicle testing, test benches and simulations to evaluate energy and thermal management performance.
• Perform data processing, KPI monitoring and root‑cause analysis of performance gaps.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for validation deliverables.
• Support performance assessments and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, power‑train systems and control strategies.
• Experience with calibration tools such as INCA and CANape.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation abilities.
• Problem‑solving mindset and analytical approach.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics (OBD, trouble codes) and ECU systems.
• Driver’s license B.
