Financial Controller – Infrastructure Finance

About the role

Africa50 Mobility is looking for a dedicated Financial Controller to support the operationalisation of its transport infrastructure projects across Africa. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be the senior accounting lead responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls for the company’s operating subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting operations, including the general ledger, chart of accounts and journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering timely and accurate reconciliations.
• Own budgeting and forecasting cycles, produce annual budgets, rolling forecasts and variance analyses.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital, supporting financing and banking decisions.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors, coordinating audits and filings.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, financial risks and recommend actions to improve profitability.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (field not specified).
• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Experience managing month‑end/year‑end close processes.
