Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) is a leading telecom and digital services provider operating across 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East. The Digital Factory is a strategic initiative aimed at delivering innovative digital customer journeys, process digitization, and technology-driven solutions with agility and scalability. As the Lead Architect Digital Factory, you will play a pivotal role in defining and evolving the architectural vision aligned with business goals and modern practices such as cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape architectural guidelines and standards to support agility, scalability, and reusability across all Digital Factory projects.
- Design product architectures based on Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles.
- Orchestrate architectural governance and lead the Design Authority across all product lines.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across engineering, product, security, and country-level teams.
- Deliver consistent, scalable, and secure architectures aligned with product vision and business needs.
- Establish a trusted API ecosystem through successful deployment of API Gateways and Marketplace.
- Improve modularity, agility, and performance of systems via modern architecture practices.
- Ensure timely product delivery with reduced technical debt and enhanced developer productivity.
Profile and Competencies:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in architecture roles in Telecom, Banking, or Digital Platforms.
- Expertise in Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, DDD, BDD, TDD.
- Proficiency in API Management (Kong, Apigee, KrakenD, AWS/Azure API Management).
- Experience with Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and Integration & Orchestration tools (MuleSoft, BizTalk, Apache Camel).
- Strong background in Cloud & DevOps (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, Terraform).
- Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, Lucidchart, Gliffy, Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English.
- A strong sense of innovation, pragmatism, and solution orientation.
Technical Leadership & DevSecOps Enablement:
- Support squads in adopting Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps best practices.
- Enable continuous delivery through CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automated testing.
- Mentor developers, product owners, and project managers on technical excellence, software craftsmanship, and architectural thinking.
Documentation & Technology:
- Maintain up-to-date architectural blueprints, principles, and repositories using tools such as TOGAF, Lucidchart, ArchiMate.
- Advocate for modern software design through communities of practice and technical workshops.
