Senior Accountant – European Finance Team

About the role

Shiftmove is looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant to own the full‑cycle accounting for its French legal entities and support other European entities as needed. You will work within a fast‑growing B2B SaaS company that manages hundreds of thousands of fleet vehicles across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger, including complex journal entries, fixed‑asset schedules, depreciation, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Lead VAT preparation, filing and reconciliations; coordinate local tax compliance and work with external tax advisors.
• Handle intercompany postings, reconcile intercompany balances across European jurisdictions and support transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Own the end‑to‑end statutory and annual audit process for assigned entities, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year‑end closes in line with Group reporting standards, GAAP and tight timelines.
• Identify data discrepancies, optimise workflows and build scalable accounting processes.
• Provide backup support for peer accountants covering other EU entities to ensure continuity.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in General Ledger accounting with experience in full‑cycle accounting.
• High‑ownership mindset, able to dive into complex data, identify root causes and implement structured solutions.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• VAT mastery and experience with local tax compliance.
• Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) is a plus.
• Familiarity with GAAP reporting standards.
• Intercompany accounting and transfer‑pricing concepts.
