About the Role

Enakl, a Moroccan startup dedicated to collective mobility, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – SaaS Platform to join its remote, full‑time team based in Casablanca. The role is pivotal during a critical transition of the company’s backend from a monolithic architecture to a robust, multi‑tenant SaaS solution. You will own key backend domains, drive large‑scale refactorings, and enforce architectural decisions while maintaining production stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Domain Ownership: Own and maintain critical backend domains, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Architectural Leadership: Drive large‑scale refactorings, enforce architectural decisions, and maintain production stability.
• Multi‑Tenant Isolation: Design and implement tenant isolation, isolation of data, and access control mechanisms.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize PostgreSQL queries, tune database performance, and improve overall system responsiveness.
• Testing Discipline: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests to guarantee code quality.
• Mentorship: Mentor peers, share knowledge, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Experience with multi‑tenant systems, tenant isolation, and access control.
• Proven ability to perform large‑scale refactorings while maintaining production stability.
• Strong testing discipline and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with AWS, background job processing, and event‑driven systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, SQS, Lambda).
• Background job processing (Bull, Agenda).
• Event‑driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience on SaaS platforms and multi‑tenant isolation.
