About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Enakl, you will be at the forefront of building a scalable, multi‑tenant SaaS platform that powers collective mobility solutions. Your primary focus will be on designing robust backend architecture, ensuring high performance, and maintaining system reliability across production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• System Ownership: Own core backend services, from design to deployment.
• Backend Architecture: Design and evolve the architecture for a multi‑tenant SaaS platform.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize PostgreSQL queries, implement caching strategies, and conduct load testing.
• Observability & Monitoring: Set up logging, metrics, and alerting to maintain system health.
• Reliability & Scalability: Ensure services can scale horizontally and handle high traffic.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve performance and reliability.

Technical Stack

The role requires deep expertise in the following technologies:

• Node.js & TypeScript: Core language and runtime for backend services.
• NestJS: Framework for building scalable, maintainable server‑side applications.
• PostgreSQL: Primary database for storing user, trip, and vehicle data.
• Multi‑Tenant Architecture: Design services that isolate data and configuration per tenant.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize database queries, indexing, and caching strategies.
• Observability: Implement logging, metrics, and alerting to monitor system health.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with NestJS or similar frameworks.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Hands‑on experience building multi‑tenant SaaS applications.
• Knowledge of performance tuning and observability practices.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.

Desired Experience

We are looking for candidates who have:

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proven track record in designing and scaling SaaS platforms.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
