Senior Legal Counsel Manager – Renewable Energy

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel Manager to lead legal matters for renewable energy and infrastructure projects across multiple international markets. The role involves overseeing contract lifecycles, supporting financing transactions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal matters for renewable energy and infrastructure projects in various jurisdictions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate project and commercial agreements such as PPAs, EPC, O&M, equipment supply, land, and interconnection contracts.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from term sheet through execution, amendments, and post‑signing matters.
• Provide legal support for project financing, investment transactions, and work closely with financing teams and external counsel.
• Assist in establishing and managing JVs, SPVs, consortiums, and strategic partnerships.
• Support M&A and investment transactions, including due diligence and documentation.
• Oversee disputes, claims, and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance issues, including permitting, foreign investment, and local‑content requirements.
• Develop and improve the company’s contract management framework, templates, and approval procedures.
• Manage relationships with external law firms and control legal costs.
• Contribute to broader compliance initiatives such as anti‑bribery, sanctions, export controls, and data protection.

Required profile

• Law degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with admission to practice as a qualified lawyer.
• Bar admission in a major commercial jurisdiction is preferred.
• At least 8 years of post‑qualification legal experience, preferably in renewable energy, energy, or infrastructure.
• Experience in an international law firm or as in‑house counsel for a renewable energy developer, IPP, utility, or investment firm.
• Strong track record negotiating major commercial and project agreements, especially PPAs and related contracts.
