Senior Software Engineer – 3D Graphics & Metal (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level software engineer with deep expertise in computer graphics to build a real‑time avatar customization system for iOS. The role is a three‑month fixed‑term freelance contract, fully remote, and focuses on leveraging Metal and related shader technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a system that layers multiple textures on avatars in real time.
• Optimize rendering and texture loading to ensure smooth performance across hardware configurations.
• Write custom MSL shaders for texture blending, transparency, and material effects.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to integrate the customization system into the avatar interface.
• Test the solution across use cases and debug rendering issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Metal, MSL shaders, and the graphics pipeline.
• Strong background in 3D graphics development, including custom shader creation and texture management.
• Hands‑on experience with texture layering techniques, blending modes, and coordinate handling.
• Proficiency in Swift, Objective‑C, or C++ for iOS Metal development.
• Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills for rendering artifacts.
