Accounting Manager / Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager/Controller to lead the finance function for a privately held food services company in North York. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently while delivering accurate financial results.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and investigate payroll records and statements.
• Assist with monthly and year‑end financial reporting, including analysis and preparation of reporting packages.
• Develop audit working papers for the yearly audit.
• Handle all government remittances.
• Execute monthly reconciliations of key balance‑sheet accounts.
• Maintain cost control measures and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a controller or managerial finance role.
• Degree in Finance; CPA designation preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, reliable and autonomous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Sage 300 accounting software.
